About CORKZILLA

We’re two guys inspired by the wine regions in California we live near, the bottle of wines we drink, the music we listen to, and the opportunity to share our experiences with you, our readers. Like many folks, we have an affinity for the wine country that resides so close to us as well as those well-known and emerging regions throughout the world deserving of notice. We’re not experts, we’re wine fans, and we want to share our thoughts about wine with you as we continue our own wine education. We also want to add a sprinkling of our love of music and how it relates to the enjoyment of a good wine, beer or spirit. Share the journey!

Biographies

Joe Colgan – Co-founder

Colgan is a finance professional, avid guitar player and music lover, and wine aficionado. Hailing from Long Island, New York, Colgan moved to the Bay Area in 1997, quickly charmed by all that the region has to offer. He graduated from SUNY – Stonybrook. Colgan lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son.

 Ben Heskett – Co-founder

Heskett is a technology marketing executive, award-winning former journalist, Boston area native, lifelong music fan, and wine adventurer, always willing to try something new. Heskett moved to the Bay Area in 1997, following a longtime inspiration to live in Northern California. He attended the University of Oregon and graduated from the University of Massachusetts. Heskett currently lives in San Francisco.
